Monfort Heights United Methodist Church has
a rich Children's Ministry program. Below you will find information about
these various ministries.
“KidsZONE
” is the Sunday School Program at Monfort Heights United Methodist
Church. We offer two unique programs of Bible-based Christian education
for children ages preschool through 5th grade during our 9:44 and 11:00
Sunday services. Children attend the first ten minutes of the worship hour
in the sanctuary with their families. Located in each pew pocket are
nametags that can be filled out and worn by the children. After a short
Children’s Message, the children are escorted to their classrooms by their
teachers and teacher helpers. After the service, parents will be directed
to the classrooms to pick up their children. Everyone is welcome to come
to Fellowship Hall following the service to meet old and new friends and
enjoy some juice, coffee, and baked treats!
9:44am...Children’s Church
At our 9:44 service, our KidsZONE children have the opportunity to
experience their own worship service! We all come together for a time of
worship, special music, children’s message, and sharing. We then break
into groups for age-appropriate study, games, crafts, and activities as we
explore and learn about God’s love for us.
11:00am...Sunday School
During the 11:00 service, our KidsZONE kids continue their journey of
discovery as they uncover the treasures of the Bible. The second year of
our WALK WITH ME curriculum promises to be filled with more Bible
adventures as we explore the Old and New Testaments and grow in our
knowledge of what it means to be a member of God’s family!
NURSERY CARE
Our Nursery Care Center, located on the Sanctuary level (2nd floor) in
Room 201, is available for infants thru age three during the Sunday
Morning Worship Hours, 8:30am, 9:44am, and 11:00am. Parents are asked to
sign in each week and will be given a pager in case they are needed during

”We
Got The BEAT” CHILDREN’S CHOIR
All children ages 4 years old through 5th grade are welcome to
participate and learn more about Jesus through music. The choir practices
every Sunday from 6:30-7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. Performances include a
Christmas program, a special Mother’s Day Banquet performance, and Sunday
Morning Worship Hour singing performances at selected times throughout the

UPWARD BASKETBALL & UPWARD
CHEERLEADING
Upward is a great experience for all members of our church and
community to join together in basketball…cheerleading…youth
fellowship…Christian leadership…and fun! Upward is a national evangelistic
sports ministry specifically designed for kids in kindergarten through 6th
grade and promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.
The primary focus is to develop the Winner in EVERY child and keep
sportsmanship and competitiveness in proper perspective. Teams practice at
either Monfort Heights Elementary or Colerain Elementary during the week
and play games at Lakewood Baptist Church on Saturday mornings. Please

CUB
SCOUTS
Monfort Heights UMC sponsors Cub Scout Pack 98. This is a full-service
pack including Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos. All boys in grades 1
thru 5 are welcome to join. Den and Pack meetings are held on different
nights throughout the month. Activities include camping, COSI trips,
outdoor activities, and leadership programs. It is not too late to join!

GIRL SCOUTS
Girl Scouts is an inclusive organization and welcomes all girls in
Kindergarten through 5th grade to participate in one of many troops that
meet at MHUMC. Girl Scouts is dedicated to building girls of courage,

DIRECTIVE CREATIVE PLAY PRESCHOOL
DCP has been serving the community since 1967 and is an outreach
program of Monfort Heights UMC. The program is for three, four, and
pre-kindergarten age children. Classes are from 9:00am-11:30am and
12:30pm-3:00pm for either a two day or three day session. Classes start in
