Pastoral Ministry
Monfort Heights has been blessed with pastors who deeply
care about the congregation. Through personal visits, preaching, teaching
and administration, our pastors, as spiritual leaders help to focus the
faithful to increase their relationship with God.
Pastor Wes Steele
On
July 1, 2001, the Rev. P. Wesley Steele was appointed to Monfort Heights
United Methodist Church as our Senior Pastor.
Wes's early years were spent in Cincinnati where his
father was a Methodist pastor. In fact, he is a third-generation pastor.
Wes graduated from The Methodist Theological School in
Ohio (Delaware) with a Master of Divinity degree with Emphasis in
Christian Education and Small Group Theory. Fully ordained in 1978, he has
served various Ohio United Methodist Churches.
Wes came to us from Columbus, Ohio where for five years he
served as the Senior Pastor at Bethel UM Church. He previously served as
the Pastor of an inner city church in Toledo, Ohio. Also, for seven years
he served as Pastor of the Cheviot UM Church in Cincinnati.
Recently, he completed the Beeson Advanced Church
Leadership Program at Asbury Seminary (Wilmore, KY).
Wes and his wife have three teen-aged children.
Pastor David Cottrill
On October 1, 2005, the Rev. David Cottrill joined Monfort Heights
United Methodist Church as our Pastor of Congregational Care.
On
