SERVE

Serve [verb]- perform duties or services for another person; to provide a product or service; to spend time as an apprentice.

God’s love is personal but not private. We cannot “keep it to ourselves”. God is highly RELATIONAL! We are the hands and feet and voice for God. We are carriers of the Love God has for ALL the world. The Bible calls us “Living Letters” not written on stone tablets but on our hearts for others to see, hear and be touched by our SERVING them

Monfort Heights UMC has a wonderful, historic reputation for being a SERVING church in our community, region, country and the world. We believe that people, including youth and children should be empowered, encouraged and equipped to SERVE the least, the lost, the needy, the broken and fractured people around us. That pretty much includes us all!

Anyway, we don’t sugar coat it! We will challenge you to move beyond our tendency to be myopic and see God’s world view. God came to serve and save. That’s what we do and God’s love is why we do it.

Monfort Heights UMC is a place to CONNECT-BECOME-SERVE. Every-one needs a place they feel they fit in - a place they belong. A place where they can be a part of something bigger than themselves.

Becoming a member of a church empowers us to live out God's purpose and mission for our lives. Building relationships with others, growing spiritually together, serving others locally, regionally, and globally help live out our lives of faith.

Areas to Serve

• SERVE: State Ave UMC volunteers needed. SERVE the second Thursday of every month. Meet at church @ 4:15 and car pool to State Ave. UMC to help SERVE a meal and help with activities for the children and families of the church. Contact Lizzy Rohlfer Wessel for details: 513-503-8887

• SERVE:: Whizkids Tutors needed. Individuals 16 years and older qualify to tutor elementary children for reading. All curriculum and activities are provided every week for the tutor. Meet with your student once a week on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:30 at our church. Contact Melissa Wilz for details: 513-574-8940

• SERVE: Sound and video assistance needed for Sunday morning services. Training provided for anyone willing to learn and help us stay "connected" on Sunday Mornings. Contact Melissa Wilz for details: 513-574-8940

• SERVE: Singers needed for the Adult Choir. Practice every Thursday evening from 7:30 – 8:30 pm with our talented director Steve Berlange.

• SERVE: KidsZONE needs volunteers! Sunday mornings at 9:45 and 11:00 we need teachers and assistants to help with our children's Sunday school program. Lots of opportunities to help a lot or a little whatever you are able to do. Contact Gina Cornelius for details: 513-481-8699.
